Local artist and photographer Steven Bley showcases his collection of photographs documenting the world that was left behind by society
STEVEN BLEY
Steven Bley has been actively photographing abandoned structures across the country for the past 10 years. What started out as a chance trip with a good friend to the abandoned Grossinger’s Resort in Liberty, NY in 2009, led to an eye-opening experience into the world that was left behind by society.
Over the last decade, Steven has taught himself photography by documenting what he has always been fascinated by his entire life, the unknown. He is drawn to anything that is off-limits to the general public and what has been deemed unnecessary or forgotten by the world.
Steven has always been artistic in one way or another since childhood, but it wasn’t until he learned how to use his camera correctly that he felt it was worth showing to others on a public scale.
When he’s not at home with his wife Monica and their two children, Sawyer and Marshall, he is out and about documenting new places or sharing his work with others.
